Enshi Jade Dew (Enshi Yulu) is a rare steamed green tea from the Wuling Mountain UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in Hubei, China. Grown at altitudes of 800–1,500 meters, this tea is nourished by selenium-rich soils and over 1,800 hours of mist-filtered sunlight each year. Recognized as a former imperial tribute tea and now listed as a Hubei Intangible Cultural Heritage, Enshi Jade Dew embodies more than 200 years of skilled craftsmanship.

How to Brew Enshi Jade Dew

  • Water Temperature: 75°C / 167°F (use a thermometer for accuracy)

  • Ratio: 4g per 150ml

  • Steep Times:

    • 1st infusion (30s): Pale green liquor with jasmine-like floral notes

    • 2nd infusion (45s): Soft, toasted almond undertones emerge

    • 3rd infusion (60s): Light honeyed sweetness with a lingering finish


🌞 When to Enjoy It

🧊 Cold Brew? Yes.

Enshi Jade Dew is excellent for cold brewing. Steep 6g in 500ml of cold filtered water for 6–8 hours in the fridge. The result is a smooth, mellow, slightly sweet green tea perfect for summer hydration.


🍵 Matcha Use? No.

Enshi Jade Dew is not suitable for making matcha, as it is a whole-leaf tea. Matcha requires shade-grown tencha, which is stone-ground into powder. However, you can finely grind Enshi Jade Dew for culinary or experimental use — just expect a stronger, grassy taste.


📦 Storage Tips

To preserve freshness, store Enshi Jade Dew in a cool, dry, and airtight container, away from light, moisture, and strong odors. A tinted tin or vacuum-sealed pouch is ideal.
